Club Returns

I'm interested to know others experience or thoughts on returning clubs to a retailer after use as I think I may have been sold a pup'.A couple of weeks ago I wondered in to a leading golf retailer eyeing up some new sticks. One of the guys there suggested I spend some time getting fitted and hitting a few different sets to make sure they were just right for me.An hour later I walk out nearly $2k poorer but looking forward to a new set arriving in a few days time. I've since had two games and two range sessions with the clubs and am finding them way worse than the clubs I had before. For the record Free Golf Sale, I had X18's and now have AP2's. I've since discovered that Titleist describe AP2's as being for the skilled' player. As a 20 marker (something I told the fitter/assistant) I would hardly describe myself as skilled!! I'm finding these clubs real hard to hit loss of distance Discount Golf, low ball flight etc.Given that the clubs were fitted for me Discount Golf, what rights does one have in returning them now that they are essentially used?

Ping I15 Driver

Hi all My Used Golf,We had the Ping fitting van in Armidale today and I went along for a hit. I was quite keen to hit the G15 to see how it compared with my current driver (MacGregor MT 460). However Golf Clubs Equipment, the G15 completely underwhelmed me I was hitting moon balls with a big hook (interesting combination I know) even with the 9 degree stiff shaft. The fitting guy then gave me an 8 degree I15 driver which I had only heard poor things about (apart from the fact it looks stunning). I was blown away by its performance it is easily the best driver I have ever hit. Launch angle of around 12 degrees with a spin rate of 2300. The ball was going dead straight on a perfect trajectory. According to the computer Used Golf, eight of the ten balls I hit carried over 260m (including one over 270m). The other two carried 252 and 258 metres. All of this into a slight headwind :). Dunno whether you can trust the computer stats. or not, but they certainly appeared visually to be longer than my normal drives. And with a nice trajectory that would have given me a fair amount of run.If you hit the ball too high, or your bad shot is a hook, give the I15 a trial run. It really surprised me, and was significantly better (for me) than the G15. It may not be for everyone, but it suited me down to the ground. Now I just need to work out how to pay for it ...

Anthony's Mizuno MX560 Driver Review

For those of you who have been following my recent driver posts Golf Reviews Blog, here is my review of my brand new Mizuno MX560 10.5 Reg driver.I ordered it on Tue 4pm from Golf Clearance Outlet in Melbourne and it arrived at my office in Sydney on Thurs 11am. I took it to the range for it's first hit out along with my Tour Burner 6 Golf Drivers Shop,8 Golf Reviews,PW irons.Started off with PW but after 5 balls switched to the driver I couldn't wait. I had taped up the face because the range I go to has pretty dirty balls and I didn't want to scratch it in case it didn't work for me and I needed to sell it.I hit 15 balls and was pleased that not one was a slice. Now I don't think this can be attributed only to the driver as I have been working pretty hard on my swing but I think it did play a rather large part in it.The problem with the 15 balls was that half were fades and half were draws. I couldn't hit one straight but despite this both fades and draws would have still had me on the fairway on most courses.I took a break from driver and worked on my irons.Once I was happy with the way I was hitting my irons consistently long and straight I switched back to the driver for the last 25 balls.Taking the inside/out, toe up/toe up, under arm throw, rotating hands, flat left wrist that I had been working on with irons I stood over the ball and CRACKED a drive straight down the middle about 190m carry. My range has an uphill slope so I only talk carry. I repeated this at least another 15 times over those remaining 25 balls all the while with a huge grin on my face. Those that were not that long were mishits off heel/toe but these still carried 140m+.Needless to say I was impressed with this driver given the diabolic Cleveland HiBore XLS I had recently been using, clearly the HiBore was not for me.A few points to make:The rubber tees at the range sit the ball lower than I normally tee it. This resulted in a lower ball flight than I would have liked and was possibly a cause for loss of distance. The ball didn't balloon like I was expecting it to based on other reviews I had read and I can't wait to get to a course and tee it up high. Not sure if the tape on the face had any impact on performance, I may not have got the full benefit of the hot face' but I don't know if removing the tape would have increased distance. The best carry I have ever had at this range (uphill remember) was 200m with my old Srixon ZRW so I'm not that far off with this driver.Thoughts on the driver:It's a thing of beauty, no matter from which angle you look at it. The blue crown, the blue shaft, the chrome Mizuno logo, the awesome headcover. It really is a nice looking driver. The Face is square, maybe 1deg closed, but I liked it.Sound is lound and hollow but by no means offensive. In fact I loved the sound. Actually as I was leaving the range a guy starting hitting a Cobra driver the speed something or other the one with the scooped out crown. Now that was an offensive sound and much, much louder than the Mizuno. The look of the stretched back and triangular head inspires confidence and the ridge on the crown helped me align the driver pretty easily.I feel like I have only tapped into 10% of the potential of this driver and I can already say uncategorically that it is the best driver I have ever used. I'm not saying that this driver is for everyone (single figures) but it is definitley the one for me (double digits).I could never get the Cleveland to work.I hit the Srixon well but felt that I couldn't improve on how I was already hitting it.The Mizuno works for me in every way from looks to feel to performance and I'm in love with it.I have a session with The Dart in a couple of weeks time and I'm sure that by the end of that session I will be hitting drives with 220m of carry with this driver. This might not be long for some of you but it is for me my swing speed is only 70-90mph.I highly recommend it..
